Weekly Reading Homework

Each week, students will be sent home with a text to do a "close" reading on.  They will have a specific assignment to complete with the reading each night.  Here is an overview of the homework assigned for Monday and Tuesday:

• Monday - Preview: Use text features to preview the text.  Students need to make at least 4 previewing "tracks of thinking" in the boxes.  They can make predictions, ask questions, or activate background/prior knowledge (4 total, not 4 of each).
• Tuesday - Annotate: Using the text codes listed below, students need to annotate the text writing directly on the article.
